2010 MTB race
« on: April 24, 2010, 10:31:55 PM »
Just throwing it out there guys...start lookin.  Coast Dairies is STILL not transferred, and Wilder prolly is to risky.  We can stick to Santa Teresa again and hope to not lose money to the ambulance, or find another venue that doesn't require an ambulance.

I will not be doing this again for next year, on account of I'm going to be busy as all hell, so somebody else needs to head it up. I will be available to help answer questions and such if needed.

One idea I had was to do 4X/STXC either at the BMX track in Santa Clara or the one in Prunedale, and then do XC/Super D somewhere, or as a reach goal XC/DH at demo.

Just some ideas. Somebody get on it.

Could we do something at demo? is that even a option? I love riding there and could make it a fun course for sure.

I don't know, that is something that needs to be investigated. Look into it- start making phone calls to the head ranger/land manager.

Brendan was talking to me about Demo before he left I believe. If I recall, he spoke with them last year and something wasn't right.

That could have also been a dream...I am just saying a recall a conversation like that.

Are we ruling or Fort Ord for XC, STXC? I know it was a pain last year?

I know its taboo to do both XC races in one day, but could that be a possibility? Then we would have the 4x,ds, dh or whatever the following day somewhere...steeper.

don't do XC and STXC the same day, that would be silly.

If anything, just hold short track wherever the gravity event is, and make it work.

Maybe we should be sick, and have gravity events in the morning....haha

Downhillers would love racing at 8am i think.

Demo has shuttling issues.  People won't like the climb to the top.

Fort Ord and Toro can be done, but beware, they seem to like to "forget" that there is an event already planned for the date agreed upon.  They would also be XC only.

Why can we not jump on their downhill and dual slalom courses that Sea Otter uses? Does Sea Otter own them specifically or shut them down to us somehow?
yeahhh yeahhh yeahhhhhhhhh

im super down for santa teresa again, that was a pretty bomb xc course.
i think its important that we have at least a dwnhill or ds race along with short track.
im too drunk, to taste this chicken
