Alright here goes...
WA Crit:
Of course, I was super anxious waiting for it to start which of course led me to struggle clipping in. Great. But, as soon as I got going I was in the zone and my body felt great even after a mere four hours of sleep. I made sure to hop on the front of the train and snag a good wheel, that wheel being Courtney O'Donnell's. I'm pretty sure the pack stayed together for the first several laps. The excellent little hill provided a great place for attack opportunities. They were thrown and much hammering occurred on the incline to bring those assaulters back. Courtney made a great attack that Tammy and I hollered at. We broke off the main pack and pulled back Larissa from Davis who had somehow been riding off the front and I had no idea. We worked together pulling in our little pace line. Scott said for the final turn for the uphill finish to be the first of second wheel. Unfortunately, I stupidly was pulling on the last leg with the slight headwind right before the turn. I also stupidly was in WAY too high a gear and Courtney and Tammy passed me on the climb getting first and second respectively. I got 3rd. I was stoked.
WA RR
Ten panicked minutes to get ready for this 60mile race meant I didn't get a good warm up (I had no time for Lady Gaga, this is serious!) and I didn't grab enough food. Fortunately, the ride over to the start line offered a good leg spin. The race started pretty slow but a Davis girl put out an attack on the hill but it only dropped a couple girls (if any). The pack moved along at a frustratingly slow rate until the turn around. After that, Courtney made a smart attack on the first incline which I covered, unfortunately bringing along everyone else too. The pace "quickened" a bit for a while after this but eventually entered tea party territory especially when a pee break was requested. Oh my god. I was hoping that once the second lap started someone would attack the first climb. Nope. We rode at a snail's pace for many more miles. I decided to do a couple attacks cause I was so bored but failed and the pack slowed right back down again. Finally, after the turnaround leading to the serious uphill finish, we started to go quicker. Courtney attacked and Tammy, Larissa and I followed her dropping the others. With the finish line nearing, my legs began to scold me for not feeding them and decided to move really slowly. Tammy passed me and I got 4th. Most boring race ever.
