Riding for Freewheelin Farms
« on: July 04, 2010, 09:00:24 AM »
One day a week I am helping out Freewheelin Farms with a little harvesting and biking. They are a small CSA farm 5 miles up the coast who twice a week (tues and fri) bike in produce boxes to stands in town--one down swift street and the other to nourish on cedar street one block from pacific. On Friday they deliver downtown, seabright, and do some home delivery.
Its a great thing they have going out there, providing locally grown organic produce to people in Santa Cruz and San Francisco using the bike as their main mode of transportation.
I told them I knew some bikers that might be interested in helping so I thought I would drop a line and see if any of yous are at all inclined to help out harvesting and/or biking in produce for the farm (on a massive trailer) it feels great to be apart of something and put my biker legs to some other good.
